Anyone can stick things down with adhesive tape, right? You've probably already successfully completed one or two home projects using masking tape or classic duct tape.
But did you prepare the surface properly? Or check whether the adhesive tape you chose was actually suitable for that surface? You will find the answers to precisely these questions, which are crucial in professional use, in the Adhesive Tape Bonder (ATB) course. Depending on the application, it is important that your adhesive bond reliably delivers what it promises.
This knowledge is indispensable, especially because adhesive tapes are becoming increasingly important as a joining technology in industry, assembly, and processing. Adhesive tapes are used in many semi-structural applications, such as the assembly of protective strips, damping stiffeners, or exterior mirrors in vehicle construction, applications in window and facade construction, or mirror bonding in furniture construction. In all these applications, proper preparation and selection are decisive for the quality and durability of the bond.
I have already completed the adhesive practitioner or adhesive specialist course, so why should I participate in the ATB?
The ATB offers you the opportunity to learn more about adhesive tapes, their properties, and how they are processed than was previously possible in DVS courses. Here you will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that you need for the professional use of adhesive tapes.
In combination with the preliminary course “Fundamentals of Adhesive Technology for ATB,” you will establish a solid foundation for safe, documented adhesive bonds in your business. Like the DVS®/EWF Adhesive Practitioner and DVS®/EWF Adhesive Specialist courses, we also offer the Adhesive Taper Bonder in cooperation with Fraunhofer IFAM.
What you can expect:
Basic course in adhesive bonding technology for ATB:
- Recommended as a refresher for EAS or EAE, or as an introduction for participants without comprehensive prior knowledge of adhesive bonding technology.
Adhesive-Tape-Bonder-Course:
- Theoretical instruction (content based on DVS 3320-2)
- Structure and properties of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes
- Manufacture of adhesive tapes
- Processing of adhesive tapes
- Characterization and testing of adhesive tapes and bonds made with them
- Practical exercises on processing and testing methods of written learning assessment
