In a week full of adventure and discovery, the children from both elementary schools not only learned new skills but also discovered and pushed their own limits. Under the guidance of experienced circus educators, they tried out various disciplines such as juggling, fire acrobatics, tightrope walking, and acrobatics. The project was supported by the sponsoring associations and generous sponsors from the region, including Innotech Marketing and Konfektion Rot GmbH from Rettigheim.
"If you can't, that's yesterday!" This motivating motto resounded for a week at the Kraichgau School's circus project in Mühlhausen, run by Circus Peperoni, as well as through the educational circus tent ZappZarap, which adorned the outdoor grounds of the Rettigheim Elementary School from April 15 to 20, 2024.
In a unique project week, elementary school children, teachers, parents, and circus educators joined forces to put on a breathtaking circus show.
The children experienced a week full of adventure and discovery, led by experienced circus educators. In various workshops, they had the opportunity to try out different circus disciplines – juggling, fire acrobatics, tightrope walking, and acrobatics. In doing so, they not only learned new skills but also discovered and overcome their own limits.
"It was fantastic to see how the children developed over the course of the week," enthuses Antje Heinle, chairwoman of the Friends of Rettigheim Elementary School Association. "They not only discovered their own abilities, but also learned to respect and support one another."
The highlight of the project week was undoubtedly the concluding circus show, in which the young artists showcased their talents to an excited audience. Jugglers, acrobats, fire artists and magicians thrilled the audience with their performances and received thunderous applause.

But behind the scenes, there was also a lot of organization and dedication. In addition to the project itself, the "Friends of Rettigheim Elementary School" support group also organized a full-scale "Circus Zeltival" for the entire week, featuring a movie night, an after-work party, and live music, including refreshments.

The costs for the one-week workshop, including circus tent assembly and dismantling, equipment, technology and transport, as well as preparatory training for the helpers, could only be covered thanks to generous donations from sponsors, including Innotech Marketing and Konfektion Rot GmbH.
The ZappZarap circus project was not only an unforgettable week for the participating children, but also a living example of the power of community and the magic of the circus. With the right solidarity and support from local businesses and the community, dreams can come true—even under the tent roof of an elementary school.
