In the picture, you can see the finished cartridge on the right—and on the left, the Aluminum Blank that starts it all. It's hard to believe that such a compact piece of metal can be turned into a sturdy, functional cartridge with a precise thread—and in such a short time.
These discs are shaped into the characteristic cartridge form using a die and a press punch in an extrusion process. They are then cut to the desired length and the thread is rolled.
